Metal Bulletin’s quotation moved up to $25-25.50 per kg on Friday, as market participants reported continued interest in buying ahead of the year end.

“There have been some suggestions that [the price is] creeping towards $26, and there’s not much Chinese material available either,” a producer said.

“In some ways, it’s similar to this time last year. We had those increases in Chinese prices and then they fed through to Europe,” he added.
